I am excited to share that Sonoma-Mendocino Coast District is now hiring a Marine Protected Area (MPA) PI Interpreter I position to work at Sonoma Coast State Park! SMCD MPA PI Interpreter I Duty Statement 8-22-23
If you love helping visitors understand the connectivity between land and sea, the importance of estuary habitats, the curious creatures that live in tidepools, and/or the migrations of magnificent marine mammals, this job is for you!
Based out of Jenner, this is a brand new interpretive position which will be offering MPA and coastal-focused PORTS Programs and traditional in-person interpretive programming at the Russian River mouth and along the Sonoma coast.
This position will collaborate closely with SMCD’s interpretive staff, plus the staff and volunteers Stewards of the Coast and Redwoods to offer public outreach and education for California’s network of 124 spectacular marine protected areas! They will also join our supportive and collaborative statewide group of MPA interpreters who work together on special events, share resources, and inspire one another to get creative with interpreting our MPAs and California’s incredible coast!
