MPA Collaborative Network: Fostering Local Stewardship in Marine Resource Management – MPA Decadal Management Review Key Partner Report

This is the MPA Collaborative Network’s Key Partner Report submitted to the California Department of Fish and Wildlife (CDFW) as part of the first statewide MPA Decadal Management Review of California’s globally recognized network of marine protected areas. The MPA Collaborative Network’s Key Partner Report highlights accomplishments and challenges faced by our organization over the last ten years of MPA management. This report will be included as an appendix in CDFW’s comprehensive review.

CDFW will develop a technical report reviewing the past ten years of the MPA Management Program, evaluating the performance of the MPA Network, and making recommendations for future adaptive management actions. The California Fish and Game Commission will receive this report at their February 2023 meeting and decide whether to direct CDFW and its partners to pursue recommendations and identified next steps.
