About this Project

A complete MPA Outreach Toolkit featuring conveniently packaged MPA curriculum, materials, and related activities for educators. Designed to improve MPA education, outreach, compliance and stewardship among students in San Diego County.

The San Diego Collaborative created MPA Curriculum for grades 1st – 5th, 6th – 8th, and High School. Curricula focuses on the Sandy Shore Habitat, Intertidal Habitat, Climate Change and MPA Science, and MPA Watch. OutreachToolkits were produced to feature the new MPA curriculum. Lesson plans are conveniently packaged along with materials and related activities for environmental educators. One hundred Outreach Toolkits were distributed to teachers and docent groups in San Diego County to improve MPA education, outreach, compliance and stewardship among approximately 3,000 students and MPA visitors in San Diego County.

CDFW Approved

This content has been reviewed by California Department of Fish and Wildlife (CDFW) staff in an effort to ensure accuracy and consistency with statewide outreach product formats, and foster public understanding and compliance in a way that also supports CDFW enforcement efforts. Outreach products that undergo the CDFW review process are eligible to use the CDFW logo for added recognition.
